First Eucharist Preparation Liturgy
A reminder that tomorrow, Thursday 9th June, parents and children preparing for First Holy Communion need to attend the Preparation Liturgy at St Augustine’s at 7pm.
May God’s peace be in your families,
Welcome to Week 7! On Sunday 5 June we celebrated Pentecost and the birth of the Catholic Church. Pentecost is the liturgical season after Easter and it celebrates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Church. It begins the eighth Sunday, or 50 days, after Easter Sunday. The descent of the Holy Spirit ushered in a new era for the people of God (About Catholics, 2014, Pentecost).
We are filled with the Holy Spirit - 1KG created Pentecost portraits using the colours of fire
Father Peter spoke to Year 4 students about the importance of Holy Communion in preparation for their Sacrament of Eucharist in June. 4SS students stayed behind to explore Lovat Chapel and learn more about the sacristy.
Mt Carmel’s Mini Vinnies is seeking your support to help those less fortunate in our community through generous donations of non-perishable food items. Your generosity and support is most appreciated. St Augustine’s Conference has requested the following items:
Prayer
Lord Jesus,
When we find ourselves challenged by the world around us
you stand among us and call us to turn to you as a source of comfort and strength.
Help us always to remember that through your peace and the power of the Holy Spirit
we are strengthened for God’s mission.
Amen
