Dear Parents, Teachers and Students,
Next Friday is St Patrick’s Day and we’re going green! The day will begin with a Prayer Assembly in the PAC, hosted by 3ML. All students are invited to wear green and bring a gold coin donation for Caritas’ Project Compassion. We are also going to host a St Patrick’s Day Disco for all our students so we look forward to dancing to some Irish jigs and Irish bands. Thank you to our SRC for organising this event for our students. There will be food and drinks for purchase at the disco. More details will follow in our next newsletter.
ZimboyZ Incursion
Tomorrow we are very lucky to have the ZimboyZ visiting Mt Carmel School to perform for us. The incursion will be for all students Kindergarten to Year 6, and will no doubt be lots of fun for our students. Thanks to everyone who has already paid to attend.
May God’s peace be in your families,
Jan Harvey
Assistant Principal
Religious Education in the Classroom
Welcome to Week 6! Year 3 students have been focusing on the Sacrament of Reconciliation, their Lent journey and using Christian Meditation to pray.
3ML are also preparing for their St Patrick’s Day prayer service in Week 7.

I asked a few students to explain what the Sacrament of Reconciliation means to them. Below are their answers:
Jess: Forgiving is a good way of being nice.
Vinnie: I say sorry to God when I do something wrong.
Jack: When you go to Church and get forgiven by Fr Peter.
Gabe: Fr Peter forgives my sins and helps me be nice to others.
Claire: It is about saying sorry to God.
3ER have been learning to pray using Christian Meditation.

Year 5 students have started their Religious Education unit with a provocation walk to identify the outward signs (symbols and practices). These signs indicate how Mt Carmel School belongs to the wider Catholic community.
Thank you for your support and donations for this great cause.
Every year, countless people turn Lent into a demonstration of faith, love and generosity. You can be a part of this incredible community, who believe that there are simple actions we can all take to “be more” for our world.
Please remember to send in your donations for Project Compassion and help make the world a fairer place for all. Let us be more!
Gracious God, today begins a period of inner reflection and examination. The days stretch before me and invite me inward to that silent, holy space that holds your Spirit. This special time beckons me to see my life through Christ's eyes and the truth and reality of your love incarnate. Give me the grace to enter the space of these days with anticipation of our meeting. And, when I open my soul to your presence, let your loving kindness flow over me and seep into the pockets of my heart. I ask this for the sake of your love. Amen.
