Dear Parents, Teachers and Students,
Mr Tim’s School Extravaganza
Mr Tim’s School Extravaganza concert is on tomorrow night at 6pm in the PAC and we’re so excited! Students should arrive at 5:30pm in costume and can go directly to their holding rooms. For parents and family members, there is no reserved seating and you do not need to save a place for your child; they will be waiting with their year group when not on stage. The performance will be streamed to the classrooms so that students can watch their friends and siblings in other year groups perform, too.
The following link will allow anyone who is not able to attend the concert to watch it live online. A separate Compass notification with the link will also be sent. Parents are welcome to share the link to the live-stream with family members. If the PAC is too crowded for comfort, we will have a local 'Live-site' operating from our Library.
CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE CONCERT LIVE
I hope that everyone will enjoy the concert. All our students have been working very hard this week to learn and rehearse their performances, and I’m sure you will be amazed at what everyone has been able to learn in just a few short days.
Open Classrooms
A reminder that we will be holding an open classroom afternoon from 3:30pm to 5:30pm next Wednesday 20 September, Week 10. It’s a great opportunity for your child to share some of this term’s learning with you.
Mission Month Crazy Sock Day
Next Wednesday 20 September the SRC will be organising an event to raise funds for Catholic Mission. Students are invited to come to school wearing crazy socks and their favourite jersey and a gold-coin donation.
Term Dates
Please note that the last day of Term 3 for students will be Friday 22 September. Term 4 will commence on Tuesday 10 October and will conclude on Friday 15 December.
May God’s peace be in your families,
Michael Green
Principal
Religious Education in the Classroom
Welcome to Week 9! 3ML students have been learning about the importance of St Augustine's Church to our community and how it links to Mt Carmel School. Students examined the history of St Augustine’s Parish and presented their information through presentations.

Some fun facts about St Augustine Church by 3ML:
Jess, Sophie, Zoey: St Augustine Church had 15 priests.
Sam, Jake, Josh: Mt Carmel is part of the parish and priests were buried at the front of the church.
Billy, Jack, Vinnie: The church has four sculptures made by Tom Bass.
Gabe, Cooper, Richie: The Sisters of Mercy helped build the community.
Maddie and Neva: It began in 1838 and the foundation stone was laid by Archbishop Polding.
Religious Life of Mt Carmel School
The theme for 2023 is "Hearts on Fire, Feet on the Move".
Mt Carmel School invites the community to engage with mission in an holistic way within the head, heart, hands model: encouraging a learning mind, an open heart and hands for action.
On Wednesday 20 September the SRC of Mt Carmel School will be organising a fundraiser event to raise funds for Catholic Mission. Students are invited to come to school wearing crazy socks and their favourite jersey and a donation of a gold coin.
Prayer
God our Father, Help us to embrace those who have made mistakes in their life. Fill us with your compassion and joy so that we are empowered to continue the mission you have called us to. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Boorowa Touch and Netball Carnival
It is time to start getting organised for the Boorowa Touch and Netball Carnival which will be held on 20th October (Friday Week 2, Term 4). It is an expectation that all Year 2-5 students attend the event. Unfortunately, the carnival clashes with Year 6 camp this year so they will be unable to attend. Teachers are starting to organise students into mixed year-level teams according to their preferred sport. You will receive more information about the event in the coming weeks as the date gets closer. Although it is an expectation that students attend, if you know your child will be absent on the day, please let their class teacher know so that they can plan accordingly.
